The best way to find cheap hotels where you can eat is to find out where the locals eat. If during your travel, you stay in a cabin, you can cook your food there and even while going on a sightseeing tour to some exotic locations nearby, you can take the cooked food with you before travelling.

During travel, try to enjoy the natural recourse available like swimming, fishing etc. While this way, you can avoid the theme parks where you have to pay. This assumes greater significance when children accompany you during your travel.
