Travel: Important First Aid Tips

Travel is fun and enjoyment but when traveling instead of trying to pack another extra set of dress in your suitcase, include a small travel first-aid kit. An emergency can arise on the surface transport, in the air, or anywhere on vacation so always carry a first aid box with you.

How to prepare a first-aid kit:

Take some old needle box to easily transport the travel first-aid kit wherever you go. Always carry a complete first-aid box with you and if you are on any prescribed medication, take the full course along with you as you might not get access to medical shops when you are traveling in certain places.

Fill your first-aid kit with the basics such as a thermometer, bandages of various sizes, scissors, adhesive tapes, gauze pads, and allergy medicine. You should also include anti-diarrhea medicine for emergency, cough medicine, antacid, tissues, aspirin, prescriptions copy, anti-bacterial hand wash, and antiseptic ointment.

Fill your travel first-aid kit with sun block, insect bite ointment, insect repellent, and lotion to heal sunburns.

Important first aid Tips:

By preparing these travel first-aid kit you will not only avoid the extra charges of hotel medicines, you will also be able to treat the first symptoms of discomfort.

During travel first-aid kits are essentially required regardless of where you are, but it is particularly important to have a first-aid kit on your travel bag whenever you are tenting or enjoying your favorite activities outdoor. The activities outdoor carry many more risks of hurting injuries from reptile or insect bites, scratches, bruises and blisters from extensive hiking.

A complete first-aid kit could mean comfort from a pricking thorn or it could even be a life saving measure.

A usual family first-aid kit, include:

• Adhesive bandages of various sizes
• Two large compress bandages
• Five small gauze pads
• Five larger gauze pads
• First-aid tape
• Small scissors
• Two individual antibiotic ointment tubes
• Five antiseptic travel wipes
• Two triangular bandages
• three hydrocortisone small tubes
• Aspirin two doses
• thermometer
• A CPR breathing barrier
• an emergency travel blanket

The above are the necessary items for first aid kit during travel. If you are traveling outdoor in your tenting first-aid kit include bug repellent, water purifying tablets, calamine lotion, smelling salts, Burn spray for relief, eye patches, tooth pain tablets, eye ointment in case of any allergy, common stomach and headache tablets.

Depending on your travel whether tenting or outdoor, first-aid kit may need to include other supplies as well with regard to your activities. While traveling carrying an incomplete first-aid kit is almost like not having first-aid kit at all.

When you come back home after each trip check your first-aid supplies and fill anything that has been used. Take a look at your tenting first-aid kit at the beginning of each vacation for expiry date of medications. Fill them up. Don’t miss anything be sure to replace any first-aid materials you discard so that during your travel you could be safe.
