Only a short boat ride away from Singapore, the beach paradise of Bintan is famous for its beautiful resorts, white sandy beaches, water sport activities and, of course, amazingly fresh seafood. Here are some restaurants that are worth to try in Bintan Island.
The Kelong Seafood Restaurant
When in Bintan, a minimum of one seafood feast is indispensable. Floating over the water on stilts, The Kelong Seafood Restaurant at Nirwana Gardens is ideal for all sorts of refreshing, locally-caught seafood and scenic views of the sea!
Their fresh crabs are a must-try. Select from classic flavors like Black Pepper, or try the out-there Salted Egg and Honey Crab, which comes slathered in an addictive sweet-and-savory golden sauce and fragrant curry leaves.
For carbs, the Indonesian-style Nasi Goreng packs a punch — extra yummy with the dark-brown rice grains glistening and al dente, all topped with that quintessential runny-yolked fried egg.
Address: Nirwana Gardens. Panglima Pantar, Lagoi, Bintan Resorts, Tj. Uban Sel., Bintan Utara, Kabupaten Bintan, Kepulauan Riau 29152, Indonesia

For cheap Indonesian eats at a hawker center, head to Pujasera Food Centre close to the Lagoi resort cluster. This local eating area is somewhat reminiscent of our meals centers back home — with the meals being quite a bit cheaper too!
From crispy egg-topped Mie Goreng to Nasi Campur loaded with tempeh, vegetarianism, and rendang, you’ll definitely find something to fill you up without having to place much of a dent in your pocket.
Address: Pujasera, Kota Sebung, Bintan Resorts, Indonesia
Whether you have a little more cash to splurge on a dining area with a spectacular view, Treetops at Banyan Tree Bintan is the place for you. Take your seats at the patio before sunset, and then watch the blue skies change in shades of red and gold as you savor your dinner and beverages.
Serving classic Indonesian dishes with superior ingredients, Treetops allows diners to choose from Degustation and family-style “Rice Table” menus, or even to order a la carte dishes instead. With a complete coriander-marinated duck deep fried and served on a bed of aromatic lemongrass rice, the signature Bebek Goreng Ketumbar is a must-try. You can’t go wrong with Sate Campur either. As a bonus, the delicious skewers of poultry and beef are served smoking-hot at the dining table atop a small grill!
